Words to Live By – Redefine Your Comfort Zone

Lately, I’ve been stepping out of my comfort zone, taking a few risks, and putting myself out there. It’s been an eye-opening experience. My sentiments are captured nicely in the following quote:

Unless you try to do something beyond what you have already mastered, you will never grow.
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Dr. Seuss captured it pretty nicely, too:

Words to Live By – Change the World

Thanks to my friend Laura for the quote below. Not only is it a great quote to start the week, it’s also worthy of a blog post (sorry for another hiatus, peeps).

I am not here to change the world. I am changing the world because I am here.
— Lisa Wilson

Have a great week, everyone.

Words to Live By #33 – March 14/13

A quick “words to live by” post this morning. May these words be as powerful for you as they are for me. Have a great day.

Words to Live By #32 (March 5/13)

This week’s Words to Live By is inspired by another Makes Me Think story

And a fitting excerpt from a message from Angel from the Marc and Angel duo:

Whenever somebody discredits you, and tells you that you can’t do something, keep in mind that they are speaking from within the boundaries of their own limitations. Ignore them. Don’t give in. In this crazy world that’s trying to make you like everyone else, find the courage to keep being your awesome self. And when they laugh at you for being different, laugh back at them for being the same.

And here’s the quoto to accompany the story and excerpt above:

Have a great day and go out there and live your dreams no matter what anyone else may think, do, or say.

Words to Live By #31 (Feb. 24/13)

This week’s Words to Live By post is solely intended to be a reminder to me that other people’s opinions don’t matter.

Also, rather than wasting any more energy trying to change people’s opinions, it’s time to stop wanting everyone to like me. It’s best to cut my losses and choose to focus my time on those who see the diamond in the rough.

Words to Live By #30 (Feb. 21/13)

A very belated Words to Live By post for this week.

I’d like to believe everything happens for a reason and today’s post is precisely what I need to think about today. I may not have selected this quoto if I’d been timely with this week’s post.

Here’s hoping it is what someone else needs today, too. 🙂

Have a great day, friends.

Words to Live By #29 – Feb. 10/13

All the way from the Mayan Riviera this week. My Words to Live By post is inspired by my first-time kayaking in open water. My hubby’s patience and encouragement made it easier to learn the proper paddle technique and my determination allowed me to paddle solo a few times. My arms feel fabulously strong as I turn in after a perfect first day of our week of RnR (physical activity IS RnR for me).

Here’s this week’s quoto:

Thanks to Marc and Angel for another fabulous image and wonderful words of wisdom for this week’s Words to Live By. I hope something in this image jumps out at you, inspires you, motivates you, challenges you, makes you think, makes you act, makes you feel, and mostly, makes you come alive.

Have a happy week, peeps.

Words to Live By #27 – January 28, 2013

Sorry for the tardy post for this week’s Words to Live By. I went ice-climbing this weekend and decided to shut-off my iPhone for almost the entire weekend. Yay me!

Without further ado, today’s quoto:

Have a fabulous week, friends.
